SANDUSKY, Ohio (WWJ) – There will soon be “family fun by day and fright by night” at Cedar Point on weekend nights as HalloWeekends returns Sept. 14, running through the last weekend in October.
Cedar Point on Tuesday announced the return of the annual event, featuring daytime activities like corn and hay mazes, “pint-sized tractors” and more events for kids, as well as haunted mazes, scare zones and more at night.
Coming back for a 26th year, this season’s event will include the all-new Midnight Haunted Maze.
“Mr. Midnight, the icon of HalloWeekends, invites guests to explore the shadowy rooms of his mysteriously malevolent mind and become immersed in his “Book of the Dark,” encountering the fears, terrors and horrors living within its pages,” a Cedar Point press release says of the new attraction, located near the GateKeeper roller coaster.
Other haunted mazes include Bloodbath, Fearground Freak Show, Slaughter House and The Haunting of Eerie Estate. All are included with park admission.
Outdoor “fright zones” include Clownz: Death Metal Tour, with the Butchers of Rock band playing live music with clown-faced concertgoers roaming the venue in this new attraction.
Other fright zones, include CornStalkers 2.0, Tombstone Terror-tory, Cut Throat Cove and Blood on the Bayou.
There will be plenty of new food and flavors to check out during HalloWeekends, with “smoked wings of fire,” cheesecake chimichangas and more.
