In an announcement on Wednesday, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they will soon offer a new video-on-demand service that combines Disney+, Hulu, and Max into one app.
In a joint statement, the companies shared that the bundle will be available in the United States this summer.
According to the announcement, those who subscribe to the new bundle will be able to access content from ABC, CNN, DC, Discovery, Disney, Food Network, FX, HBO, HGTV, Hulu, Marvel, Pixar, Searchlight, and Warner Bros.
The companies will include ad-supported and ad-free plans.
Customers will be able to purchase the bundle from either company, and Warner Bros. CEO JB Perrette said the platform will be “the greatest collection of entertainment for the best value in streaming.”
The announcement from Disney and Warner Bros. comes as companies continue to tool with their streaming platforms as a way to best reach audiences and drive profits.
Earlier this year, ESPN, Fox Corp., and Warner Bros. Discovery announced that this fall they would launch an app that groups the bulk of their sports content for US users.
Now, others in the streaming business appear to be joining the trend as media companies continue to struggle to find a balance between producing new content and still turning a profit.
Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery launched Max, combining content from Warner Bros. and Discover, including numerous reality series, DC Comics films, and HBO.
Disney also made some changes last year, taking over control of Hulu, which was previously a joint venture with 21st Century Fox, Time Warner, and NBC Universal.
Though the target is this summer, a specific launch date and pricing have not yet been shared by Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery.
