It was definitely not a "Blue Christmas" for Dwayne Johnson's mother.
In a move adored since the days of Elvis Presley, “The Rock” went and bought his mother a Cadillac for Christmas.
No, he didn’t do it with his first big paycheck like The King, but it did make for a pretty amazing gift.

In a heartwarming clip posted to his Instagram, Johnson is seen covering his mother's eyes, while her two grandchildren excitedly jitter in front of the 2022 Cadillac CT5.
As they yell "Merry Christmas," The Rock pulls his hands away to reveal the surprise. His mom almost faints as she simply whispers, “Oh my god”, before she begins to cry and hugs her son.
Johnson gives a nod to his tough upbringing with a loving caption that reads:
“Surprised my mom with a new car for Christmas today. She was shocked. She got a few good ugly cries in. Then once her grand babies joined her inside the car. She was overcome with pure joy joy. I’m so grateful I can do this kinda stuff for my mom, who’s had one helluva life. I don’t take any of it for granted. Neither does she."
In the slideshow of photos with the clip, mom is seen sitting in the driver’s seat with a miles-wide smile as the grandkids join her. And, as Johnson captioned, his dog got into the celebration too: “Even Hobbs, my dog wanted to peep the whip with his new Christmas chicken."
Don’t think Johnson, and his mother, aren’t aware of the Elvis reference. His caption ended with, “Merry Christmas ma, enjoy your new ride!!! And your Elvis records. We love you. You deserve a lot more."
The song playing in the background of the clip? – Elvis’ “I Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
This isn't the first time Johnson gifted a car. In January 2021, the actor gave his longtime friend Bruno Lauer a Ford F150.
He explained that Lauer, a former wrestling manager, took him in twice when he was a homeless teenager in Nashville and even helped him buy his first car.
In December, he surprised a Navy vet with the gift of his dreams -- his customized pickup truck that he refers to as his "baby.”
