Vacations are supposed to be relaxing, but anytime wild animals are thrown into the mix, things can get a little tricky. That’s why hotel employees were left scrambling recently when an elephant walked into their hotel through the front door, wandering around the lobby looking for food. Luckily, no one was harmed by the elephant encounter, and guests got an incredible viral video from the experience.

The Mfuwe Lodge in Zambia has dealt with unwanted guests in the past, but nothing quite like the elephant that wandered into the hotel recently. As seen in the now viral clip, a massive bull elephant calmly walks through the lobby of the hotel looking for food. According to Fox News, this is not the first time the hotel has dealt with elephants on the premises.

“During the time that the wild mango fruit is in season, we get elephants in the courtyard and in reception several times a day. It generally happens from late October through mid-December,” said the managing director at the Mfuwe Lodge, Andy Hogg. Luckily, the elephant stayed away from guests and eventually left the area. Maybe the hotel should invest in smaller doors to avoid this happening again.
