Last week, University Liquors & Fine Wines in Knoxville, Tennessee alerted officers when an employee noticed a man running away from the electrical box after their building lost power.
Officers reported that the electrical box was busted and sparking after the incident.
The employee then noticed the man, 44-year-old Charles Marion Fields, was seen walking by the business just minutes later.
The employee engaged Fields, telling him he was not leaving until the police arrived. Fields had other ideas. He engaged the employee in a physical altercation, and repeatedly tried to leave before the police arrived, though he was unsuccessful.
When officers arrived, they found Fields smelling strongly of alcohol, had slurred speech, and admitted to drinking for a while. A witness verified that Fields was the one who had vandalized the building. He was then taken into custody after being deemed a danger to himself and others.
Per Wate 6, the electric box was taken from the building, though it was found in a parking lot Fields had fled to.
He is set to be arraigned in Knox County Court on March 31.
