Vacations are supposed to be relaxing, especially when they include a beach. However, one beachgoer’s time off quickly went from calming to stressful recently when his trip to the ocean was interrupted by a shark. As seen in the clip that has since gone viral, a man stands in the ocean as a hammerhead quickly rushes towards him while beachgoers scream in terror.
The shark encounter occurred in Panama City, Florida over the weekend. In the video, a man can be seen standing alone in shallow water as a hammerhead shark swims near him. All of a sudden, the shark quickly charges towards the man before quickly turning and heading back away from the beach. Many beachgoers in the video can be heard screaming “shark” as it approaches the man.
According to Fox News, the video has been viewed over 6 million times since being shared online. Luckily, no one was harmed in the video, as one commenter claimed the shark was likely chasing a fish, not the man in the ocean. After this close call, the man may be sticking to land vacations for a while.
