Many of us have been here before -- we're in a rush or maybe had one too many drinks, and we leave something behind in the Uber, only to realize it after the car has driven off and out of our lives forever.
With riders leaving behind items in Ubers on the daily, the rideshare company has compiled a list of the most commonly forgotten and most unique lost items over the past year.
Not surprisingly, clothing, phones, keys and wallets top the list of the most commonly forgotten items. But riders have been leaving unique items behind, too -- like a Danny DeVito Christmas ornament, a fog machine, and not one but six cheesecakes.
Dentures and false teeth also took a big bite out of Uber's top lost items year-over-year, with more than 40 instances of misplaced pearly whites reported.
Uber says it saw a significant spike in lost Disney and Harry Potter items this year, especially Minnie ears, lightsabers, Disney Magic Bands and of course, magic wands.
Those who partake in cannabis are also particularly forgetful, with Uber reporting a "high" increase in forgotten ganja goods, from bags of weed to pre-rolls and pens – both medicinal and recreational.
It may be hard to believe, but some passengers accidentally forgot their pet companions in their Uber, including dogs, turtles, hamsters and even a rat. But not to worry, Uber says these pets were safely reunited with their humans.
April seems to be the most forgetful month for Americans, with April 5 and April 9 as the most forgetful days of the year. Coming in at third is New Year's Day, as folks recover from ringing in a new year.
