LIVONIA, Mich. (WWJ) – Livonia police say some of their officers "certainly earned their bucks" earlier this month when they were called to help free a deer who was stuck in a hammock.
Police were called to a home on Dec. 4, where a buck's antlers had become tangled in the hammock.
Body camera video posted to the department's Facebook page shows the deer clearly in distress and agitated as officers attempted to set him free.
Initial attempts to free the deer failed. As the buck rams one officer, he's heard saying "well, that's not good!"
That's when one of the officers went home to retrieve a pole saw, which eventually helped set the deer free. Police said the incident lasted more than an hour.
After the deer was finally freed, someone can be heard saying "well done, sir."
"We are thankful that all of the officers and the deer are safe and healthy," the department said.
