On Tuesday, police in Canada shared that they arrested a man who had allegedly thrown a fishing rod at a car traveling on a freeway in the country.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police shared in a press release that they had received multiple reports of a man throwing and swinging objects at cars traveling on or near Highway 99.
On Monday, at 3:40 p.m., police were again notified of someone allegedly throwing items at cars, this time a fishing rod.
The man believed to have thrown the rod left the scene, fleeing police by foot, resulting in a short pursuit, the RCMP shared.
Police were able to locate him shortly after their chase, and he was arrested and charged with mischief and multiple other offenses.
He has since been released, with a future court date having been set. His identity or age was not shared by police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as there have at least two other men believed to be involved in what happened.
“There’s been a lot of talk in the community about this, and it’s good for us to be able to update that we’ve arrested someone,” Corporal Angela Kermer of the RCMP shared in the release.
