Advertisements for McDonald's burgers can really make your mouth water. But one devout Christian in Russia isn't "lovin' it."

Ksenia Ovchinnikova is reportedly suing the fast-food chain because she fell into temptation and broke her fast for Lent after seeing an ad for a juicy McDonald's burger.

The Orthodox Christian issued a statement to Russian media, saying she has been observing the fasting tradition of Lent, where the faithful avoid eating meat and other animal products, for 16 years. Ovchinnikova says she was about a month into her fast in April 2019, when she saw an ad for a McDonald's cheeseburger and chicken McNuggets and just couldn't resist.

"When I saw an advertising banner — I could not help myself," Ovchinnikova said. But after eating a burger, she was full of regret.

Ovchinnikova is now accusing the fast-food giant of breaking the consumer protection law and insulting her religious feelings, according to the Daily Mail. She says McDonald's should not be advertising meat and animal products at a time when Christians are refraining from them. She is suing McDonald's for $14, or 1,000 rubles, as compensation for "moral damage."

A court date on the claim has not yet been scheduled. McDonald's has not responded to the lawsuit.

"I could not help myself," Ovchinnikova said.
