Netflix announces 'Squid Game' reality TV show

LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Fans of the Netflix show “Squid Game” now have the chance to participate in a version of the game.

Netflix announced its upcoming series, “Squid Game: The Challenge”, a reality show in which contestants participate in childhood-inspired games for the prize of $4.56 million.

“Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real world contestants navigate the biggest competition series ever, full of tension and twists, with the biggest ever cash prize at the end,” Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s vice president of unscripted and documentary series, said.

Riegg added that “Squid Game” creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s has given his support for the project.

The streaming service teased the upcoming show with a video.

The new show comes after it was announced “Squid Game” would be renewed for season 2. The hit show became the streamlining services’ “biggest series launch ever” with 111 million views when it debuted in October 2021.

The reality show is looking for” English-language speakers from any part of the world.”
