Not all reboots are treated the same, as some are more highly anticipated than others. Yet, when Netflix unveiled the first look at Kevin Smith’s ‘Masters of the Universe’ reboot, the fans couldn’t hide their excitement any longer. Photos of the upcoming animated series were shared by the streaming service this week, and now fans are more excited than ever to see what Kevin Smith brings to the franchise.

According to Kevin Smith, the new series will be a continuation of the story from the original 80’s animated show. “We’re playing with the original mythology and characters, and revisiting and digging deeper into some of the unresolved storylines. Visually we also made the conscious decision to lean into the Masters of the Universe line of toys for inspiration as well,” said Smith.

The new series will have a star studded cast, including; Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Chris Wood as Prince Adam/He-Man, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Liam Cunningham as Man-At-Arms, Stephen Root as Cringer, Henry Rollins as Tri-Klops, Alicia Silverstone as Queen Marlena, Jason Mewes as Stinkor and more. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the reboot is expected to begin streaming July 23. Hopefully this reboot doesn’t disappoint.
