A photo of a young girl has been circulating the internet, causing viewers to scratch their heads at what's really going on in the image.
The image, which was not photoshopped in the slightest, shows a girl in a pink shirt seemingly halfway underground. The longer you stare at the picture, the more confusing the whole ordeal becomes.
The image first appeared on Reddit but then began circulating on Twitter with thousands of users clamoring for answers.
"My daughter, where's the rest of her?" the caption reads on Reddit.
While the image is a mere optical illusion with a reasonable explanation, many users still found themselves struggling to see the truth. "This is making my brain hurt," one user wrote.
Another chimed in, "Oh wow that took a minute."
Eagle-eyed viewers of the photo were able to crack the case, indicating that the girl is actually standing next to a low wall that looks to be made of the same material as the walkway below.
The angle of the photo thus makes it appear as though the girl has sunk into a quicksand-like concrete situation.
