Roseville gas station busted for selling marijuana edibles disguised as chips, candy

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WWJ) -- Police in Roseville are investigating after a local business was caught selling marijuana edibles in packaging that looks like typical gas station snacks -- chips and candy.

Roseville police tell WWJ the investigation is still ongoing, but several arrests have been made after a local business was discovered to be illegally selling the edibles. Photos of the products show packages nearly identical to that of popular brands like Doritos, Cheetos, Gushers and Warheads. It was not clear whether the products were flavored as the labels suggested, but they did include a small "THC" label on them.

It is illegal to sell marijuana products in Michigan without proper licensing, and it is illegal to seel it at all in Roseville, per city ordinances.

Authorities did not disclose the name or location of the business selling the products, but multiple reports say it was a gas station.

Police are notifying the public to be aware of these products, as they are packaged “in a way that would encourage consumption by children.”

Anyone who sees such products being sold are asked to contact the police department, or Roseville Police Chief Ryan Monroe at 586-447-4500.
