Taco Bell had a rough 2020 after disappointing many fans by removing a number of fan favorite items from the menu. However, it seems they are trying to turn things around in the new year. First, they announced plans to bring back potatoes to their menus, and now they have teased a new menu item that they claim will “interrupt” the chicken sandwich wars.

During a recent interview, Taco Bell’s chief global food innovation officer Liz Matthews hinted at some new chicken based items that should have fans of the fast food chain very excited. While not much was revealed Matthews said, “I think a lot of players out there are doing a great job, but what I will say is that we will interrupt that with what we're going to do on chicken.” It is unknown if there will be one or multiple products added to the menu.

While details are still scarce, Matthews claimed these dishes should be seen within the next 24 months. A number of other upcoming menu ideas were teased as well, though secrecy is clearly the fast food chains plans for now. Hopefully this makes up for all the lost menu items.
