NEW TRAILER: Ghostface takes Manhattan in 'Scream 6'

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Take the slay train!

“Scream VI” will be set in New York City, Paramount Pictures revealed in a teaser trailer Wednesday.

The cast of 2022’s “Scream”—Courteney Cox, Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding—return for the latest installment in the slasher franchise, slated for a March 10, 2023, release.

In the film, the survivors “leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter” in New York City—or not.

“In a city of millions... no one hears you scream,” the trailer declares as the film’s protagonists are stalked by Ghostface on a subway car packed with riders in Halloween costumes.

A new poster for the film shows Ghostface peering through the window of a train at the Times Square–42nd Street station with the tagline, “New York. New Rules.”

The film undoubtedly pays homage to the 1989 flick, “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan,” in which the hockey-masked killer slashes his way through a New York–bound ship and onto the streets of the city.

Anticipation for the new “Scream” had been building after the franchise’s official Twitter account posted a subway emoji on Tuesday, with some horror buffs quickly taking the hint.
