There were plenty of thrill seekers traveling to New Jersey over the weekend, as the world’s largest roller coaster opened at Six Flags on Sunday. The Jersey Devil has set the record for the world’s tallest single-rail roller coaster. Now, after over a year of delay, the public finally got the chance to try out the ride.

The Jersey Devil roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey was originally set to debut in 2019, but delays forced its launch to happen over the weekend. According to Fox News, the ride hits speeds of nearly 60 miles per hour and stretches for nearly 3,000 feet. "The world’s tallest, fastest, and longest single rail coaster, Jersey Devil Coaster, will debut Sunday, June 13. Make your way to the park and great ready for maximum speed, twists and turns. The coaster hits 58 miles an hour with a 130-foot drop. Towering 13 stories high, the coaster takes riders over 3,000 [feet] of track,” reads the ride’s description on the park’s website.

Many thrill seekers were impressed by the ride, though some still say they wanted more. Of course, plenty others say there is no chance they will ever go near the ride. It’s only a matter of time before another park finds a way to outdo this one.
