Most people eagerly await their retirement, but that isn’t the case for Ruthie Shuster.

Shuster has worked at McDonald’s for more than a quarter century.

According to 6ABC, she serves up “smiles and even the occasional performance” along with fast food orders.

And on March 3, she’s going to celebrate her 100th birthday.

Shuster works at the fast food location in North Huntingdon, a suburb in Pittsburgh, three days a week. And she has absolutely no plans to retire.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she told Fox19 that Fridays were her favorites because she’d serve meals with a little eperformance.

“Friday about 30 comes, and we all sing, ‘You are my sunshine.’ Everybody come in,” she said of her loyal customers.

She explained that the pandemic has put a bit of a damper on her social life and that she misses the crowds and after-work activities.

“I go dancing four days a week. You can’t go dancing nowhere. There’s no dances around,” she explained.

The thought of retirement hasn't even crossed Shuster's mind, who dedicated herself to her work after losing her husband.

"I became a widow when I was 50. I've been working ever, ever, ever since. And I like working," she explained to the outlet, adding that she enjoys being around people.

There’s also a little thing called a payday!

“I get paid. I pay my bills, and that's good. I never had a lot of money, but I always have enough,” she revealed,” she noted.

Her personable approach and genuine appreciation for the gig has made her one of the location’s most popular employees.

Ahead of her centenarian milestone, she’s received an outpouring of love and birthday cards from customers.

There’s been such an influx of mail, in fact, that McDonald’s had to install her own mailbox on site to accommodate all the well-wishes.

Shuster said she appreciates all the cards, but isn’t phased about the big 1-0-0.

“To me, it’s just a number,” she noted.

If you want to send Shuster a birthday card, you can do so at this McDonald’s address:

Huntingdon, PA 15642
