As LSU wrapped up their first ever national championship in women’s basketball last year, the team’s biggest star came under fire from some self-proclaimed gatekeepers of the sport on social media for performing a perceived taunt at an opponent – a taunt that said opponent had performed herself on a number of occasions in the same title tournament at previous opponents.

Angel Reese bristled at those criticisms at the time, and now she has called out one of the top sports websites for applying what she perceives as the same sort of double-standard to another pair of athletes.

Barstool Sports seemed to glorify Quinn Ewers of the Texas Longhorns for doing a celebratory dance involving “finger-guns” after having previously criticized Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies for it.

And Reese took notice.

While she wasn’t the first to compare the two posts, she did re-share the comparison, adding, “lol I’ve seen this before….”

When it was Reese at the center of the firestorm following the NCAA championship game last spring, Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, who was the target of Reese’s taunts, defended her saying that Reese shouldn’t be vilified for what she viewed as run-of-the-mill in-game trash talking.
