Atlanta Hawks fans are still waiting for the team to make a major move this NBA offseason. Even if this Hawks team as currently constructed wins more games next season, the question seems to be how good can they really be without a major move?

On paper, the answer seems to be fairly obvious: not a championship contending team as of right now. But if there is one thing we can bet on for certain, Hawks star Trae Young loves to defy the odds.

We know some of the greatest athletes throughout history use doubt from the media and fans as fuel to their fire. Young has showcased this on the biggest stage on numerous occasions. Whether it was the bow in the Garden, where Young embraced the villain role and almost singlehandedly defeated the Knicks, or if it’s exploding in clutch moments and defeating the Celtics in the TD Garden.

Bobby Maximus alluded to this on 2 The Max. “Trae Young, he feeds off hate. The dude drinks hate smoothies for breakfast. He plays better on the road. He plays better in a hostile environment.”

Although the Hawks should still look to improve their roster, having a star in Young, who embraces the challenge, certainly helps your chances to make noise this upcoming season. Very few players possess this quality to attack the obstacle in front of them. Young is one of those players. I am expecting to see a star player with a chip on his shoulder make major noise this upcoming season in Trae Young.
