Boomer: Jets would be 'idiots' to let Aaron Rodgers play again this season

Reacting to Aaron Rodgers’ recent comments, Gio now has done a 180 and believes the star quarterback could indeed be coming back this season.

Not that he thinks it would be a smart move.

“If he came back and tore that Achilles again, you’re telling me he’d just be like ‘OK, let’s go right back to the rehab’?” Gio said. “I couldn’t believe this was his take on it. Now that I’ve seen that, I keep thinking…there’s no doubt he’s coming back.”

Boomer agrees that it wouldn’t be a good move, which is why he still maintains that it won’t happen, regardless of what Rodgers is currently telling reporters as he returns to Jets practice.

“He’s not coming back. I don’t care what anybody says,” Boomer said. “The Jets would be idiots to put him out there given the circumstances of the team and the condition of his foot.

“His foot needs time. He’s a human being. He’s not God. He may be rehabbing his ass off, which I give him a lot of credit for…but the realistic expectation to see him on the football field taking a tackle? No way.”
