New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was knocked out Sunday's win against the San Francisco 49ers with a rib injury.
On Monday, ESPN reported that the NFL's all-time leading passer would miss time due to multiple rib fractures and a collapsed lung. But Brees appears to be in good spirits as he posted a light-hearted photo on his Instagram account showing his children offering him medical care.
"Who Dat Nation: I've got the best medical team in the world...will be back in no time!" Brees wrote.
Brees was able to finish the first half of Sunday's game despite feeling "terrible" following a hard hit in the second quarter of the matchup. He told reporters he planned to play the second half but was unable too.
Backup quarterback Jameis Winston took over for Brees and went 6-of-10 for 63 yards as he helped seal the victory.
Saints coach Sean Payton spoke to local media members Monday and said the team would not announce a starter before Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
