Brian Flores revealed on his Wednesday press conference that Tua Tagovailoa has fractured ribs and will be out Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Brian Flores: Tua is out this week. He has fractured ribs and is in a lot of pain. This is a tough kid. He wants to play. He's trying to play. We're just going to save him from himself and hold him out. pic.twitter.com/zFABZGYV0n

The team put him through further tests after the initial X-rays showed nothing broken.
"He's in a lot of pain. He's out this week. We're going to take it week to week...this is a tough kid. He wants to play. He's actually trying to play. We're going to save him from himself a little bit on this and take it week to week," said Flores.
Tagovailoa was hurt on the second drive of the Dolphins' Week 2 loss to Buffalo on Sunday. Jacoby Brissett will start in his place.
Brian Flores: We did more tests and that revealed the fractures. It's unfortunate. Thankfully it's not something that we think is going to be…well, I don't want to put a timetable on it. He's better but still dealing with pain. We'll take it one day at a time. pic.twitter.com/3xZTdH9YP0
