CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – With the season circling the drain at 1-5 let the fire sale begin.

The Browns agreed to trade receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills Tuesday afternoon.

The trade includes Cooper and 2025 sixth round pick via Detroit going to the Bills for a 2025 third round pick and a 2026 seventh round selection.

“We appreciate Amari’s hard work, professionalism and on-field contributions throughout his two plus seasons with us,” Browns executive vice president of football operations and general manager Andrew Berry said in a statement. “He created many memorable moments with us and was an integral part of our 2023 playoff team. We wish him the best in Buffalo as he continues his NFL career.”

The final year of Cooper’s contract, worth $20 million, was guaranteed by the Browns prior to training camp and bonus incentives added to it which prevented a camp holdout.

Cooper who has 24 catches for 250 yards through six games, has struggled early this season and has been plagued by dropped passes and a lack of chemistry with quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Cooper was acquired from Dallas in March of 2022 and he became the first receiver in franchise history to tally back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with 1,160 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022 as well as 1,250 yards and five touchdowns in 2023.
