The Tampa Bay Lightning will get to drink from the Stanley Cup once again, but their fans can also celebrate in a new, unique way: by drinking the ice they played on.

Coors Light is making the first-ever beer that will include actual ice the Stanley Cup was played on in a limited-edition Champions Ice beer.

Coors Light has been quietly gathering ice from the rink at Amalie Arena and transporting it back to its brewery in Golden, Colorado where it is being filtered during the brewing process to perfect the new Champions Ice beer.

“As an official beer partner of the Tampa Bay Lightning, we’re proud to celebrate the team’s second-straight championship win by giving Bolts fans a literal taste of the action,” said Marcelo Pascoa, vice president of marketing for the Coors Family of Brands. “We’re no strangers to the magic of the ice, both in the arena and outside it. And now, we’ve taken that ice and have brewed it into a refreshing beer.”

Tampa fans can begin enjoying this drink starting the week of July 12 at participating Tampa bars, where a limited supply of 32 oz. collectible crowlers will also be available.
