DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was arrested on possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon on Sunday night by Frisco Police, according to multiple reports.
Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram was the first to report the news of Williams' arrest.
Williams was allegedly in possession of marijuana, which is classified as a low-level felony in the state of Texas.
According to the reports, the charge for unlawful carrying of a weapon is classified as a Class A misdemeanor.
Williams returned home with the Cowboys on Sunday following the Cowboys preseason matchup with the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday. The arrest occurred later Sunday evening.
The Cowboys have yet to comment on the arrest of Williams, but he did practice with the team on Tuesday.
Williams, who had four sacks in his rookie season in 2022, is expected to play a bigger role for the team this season.
