The Lions picked off Aaron Rodgers three times and held him to the fifth lowest passer rating of his career last Sunday, but Rodgers isn't here to give them credit.
"Look, no disrespect, but did they play great?" Rodgers said Tuesday on the Pat McAfee Show. "We had 400 yards of offense on them, moved the ball up and down the field."
Rodgers said he basically gifted the Lions two interceptions by throwing one pass off the helmet of linebacker Derrick Barnes that fell into the hands of Kerby Joseph and another well short of wide-open target David Bakhtiari and straight into the hands of Aidan Hutchinson. The Packers out-gained Detroit 389 yards to 254, but lost 15-9.
"I don’t think they really stopped us," said Rodgers, who added the Packers had success whether they went with tempo or huddled up. "We had three possessions in the first half and went up and down the field, so it’s more about us I think than them."
Rodgers went so far as to say that the game "shouldn't have been that close" because two of his interceptions ended drives within yards of the end zone.
"We should be looking at at least 14 points in the first half and then who knows, the second half probably plays out differently with us having those points," said Rogers. "But we beat ourselves, as we have many times this season."
However Rodgers wants to frame it, the Lions don't care. They won the game and sent the Packers to their fifth straight loss for the first time since Rodgers' first season as a starter.
