Alim McNeill is officially done for the season. Carlton Davis III could be, too.

McNeill suffered a torn ACL in the Lions' loss to the Bills, per Ian Rapoport. It happened to the same knee that McNeill sprained late last season. His loss is a big one for the Lions, as the rising star was their best remaining defensive lineman after they lost Aidan Hutchinson earlier this season.

Davis, the Lions' No. 1 cornerback, fractured his jaw against the Bills and is undergoing surgery. He will be out six weeks, per Rapoport. That could put him on track to return should the Lions make a deep playoff run, but no sooner than the NFC title game in a best-case scenario.

Brodric Martin and the recently-acquired Myles Adams could see bigger roles in the absence of McNeill, who ranks second on the Lions this season in sacks and QB pressures -- in both cases to Hutchinson -- on top of his stout work against the run.

Kindle Vildor and Emmanuel Moseley are next in line at cornerback. Amik Robertson, who's played mostly in the slot, could get some work on the outside, too.

"It’s always tough losing those kind of players, but we got the players to step up and not have no drop-off," Robertson said after the Lions' 48-42 loss to the Bills. "Just gotta play better, man that’s it. We got no excuses. We know that we gotta step up."
