Is that even possible? Sure seems like it.

This isn’t a fluke. The Lions' three-game winning streak has been earned.

They have had excellent game plans on both sides of the ball. The Lions have displayed the type of competitiveness for which they are not known.

Most imperatively, the Lions’ young nucleus has been the key to getting it done.

Yeah, the Lions’ future is beginning to look up after winning a third straight game in New York over the Giants. But what about this season?

If the Lions really want to show the world they are different, down the Bills on Thanksgiving.

Count me amongst those who loves the Thanksgiving tradition in Detroit. It would be sacrilegious if it is ever taken away.

It’s the only game in town during the key time, one of the best traditional football days of the year, and the Lions simply have not done it justice, especially in the quarter-century since Barry Sanders retired.

The Lions are 4-6 in 2022. They have at least moved to the fringe of the playoff race. They have proven they can win outdoors in less than ideal conditions. The Giants were 7-2. It was a huge deal the Lions were able to stymie Saquon Barkley, and force three turnovers.

It was a breakout game for second-year nose tackle Alim McNeill. He was fantastic, while recent draft picks Aidan Hutchinson, Kerby Joseph and Amon-Ra St.Brown made key plays.

It’s not just the youngsters. Jamaal Williams is on pace to rush for more than 1,000 yards and 20 touchdowns. The Lions’ offensive line is not overrated, that much is certain.

Yet, a real shot at the playoffs is determined by beating Buffalo. Josh Allen and the Bills have been vulnerable lately. Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes have weathered another hurricane, and recovered.

Falling behind the 8-ball isn’t easy, and nobody really thought the Lions would be able to down the Bills. Hype will sizzle, even during this short week.

The Lions have relentlessly failed when expectations rise, and the captivation the nation is forced to observe only adds to the Thanksgiving glare.

A win could be a fork in the road in the right direction for the Lions. And continuing this winning streak equals genuine progress instead of a mirage.
