Before he had one of his best games of the season in the Lions' win over the Bears on Sunday, Amon-Ra St. Brown gave a young, cancer-stricken fan one of the best moments of his life. At that point, the game was just gravy.
A 14-year-old boy named Lucas Gidelski was sitting on the sideline in a wheelchair during warmups when St. Brown jogged over to meet him.
"You're my favorite player," Lucas told him, in a video captured by NFL Films.
After kneeling beside his biggest fan for a photo, St. Brown was told that Lucas was diagnosed with cancer a couple weeks ago and that sharing a moment with St. Brown "meant the world to him."
St. Brown then autographed Lucas' No. 14 jersey -- who else? -- and told him as tears welled up in Lucas' eyes, "You got it. Nothing can stop you, alright?"
And on this day, no one could stop St. Brown. The Lions' leading receiver made 10 catches for 119 yards in Detroit's 31-30 comeback win, with Lucas looking on.
And if all that wasn't enough, St. Brown took to Twitter after the game to track Lucas down and send him a signed, game-worn jersey after what St. Brown called their "heartfelt conversation."
That's an honest day's work.
