The Sun God can't be stopped.
After setting franchise rookie records last season, Amon-Ra St. Brown is setting NFL records in year two with the Lions.
He already entered Sunday's game against the Commanders with five straight games of at least eight catches and a touchdown, tied for the longest streak in NFL history. Then he went off for nine catches and two touchdowns to break the record in Detroit's first win of the season.
That also gave St. Brown at least eight catches in eight straight games, tying four-time All-Pro Antonio Brown and two-time All-Pro Michael Thomas for another NFL record. St. Brown's streak began in Week 13 of last season when he broke out for 10 catches and a walk-off touchdown in the Lions' first win of the year.
He hasn't looked back since.
A fourth-round pick, St. Brown caught the NFL by surprise as a rookie. Asked how he would adjust this year now that opposing teams have seen his film, he said in training camp, "I mean, they still gotta stop it."
"Know what I mean?" said St. Brown. "At the end of the day, I do what I do and you still gotta stop it."
So far, no one has.
While we're here, St. Brown also tied a franchise record Sunday with a touchdown in six straight games, matching Herman Moore's streak in 1994.
Would anyone be surprised if he broke it next week?
