Lions-Buccaneers game flexed to 4:25 in Week 6

The Lions are moving up the NFL ladder -- not just in the standings, but on TV.

The NFL has flexed the Week 6 Lions-Buccaneers game from a 1:00 start to 4:25 on FOX, the league announced Monday. It's another high-visibility kick-off for Detroit, which has already played two of its four games this season in primetime on Thursday Night Football.

The Lions and Bucs are both 3-1 through four games and will enter Week 6 at least tied for first in their respective divisions. Tampa has benefited from a surprisingly strong start by quarterback Baker Mayfield, who, like Jared Goff, is a former first overall pick.

It's the Lions' first East Coast game in the 4:00 window in three years and just their third in the last eight years. They lost at home to the Packers in Week 14 of 2020, a game in which Green Bay clinched the NFC North, and beat the Colts on the road in the season opener in 2016.

The other 4:25 games in Week 6 will be Eagles-Jets and Cardinals-Rams.
