C.J. Gardner-Johnson made a lot of headlines during his brief stint in Detroit. He has more to say now that he's gone.
After returning to the Eagles on a three-year, $27 million contract, Gardner-Johnson clapped back at Lions fans and took a shot at his ex-teammates on social media Wednesday.
"Lions fans quick to turn! But ima hush," he said in a since-deleted post on X, responding to apparent criticism from the fanbase.
Gardner-Johnson played in just three games last season due to a torn pec, then three more in the playoffs. He drew criticism toward the end of the year for publicly objecting to his role in a safety rotation with Kerby Jospeh and Ifeatu Melifonwu and later for a lack of discipline in the Lions' loss to the 49ers in the NFC title game.
In another deleted post on X, Gardner-Johnson called himself a "City legend though, definitely can ask any East side or west side resident!" and told the fans to quit "playing on my name."
He followed up later by reposting the latter tweet to his Instagram story and adding, "Tired of these Detroit fans." In the same story, Gardner-Johnson called out his former Lions teammates, aside from Jameson Williams, for being "scared to go outside to kick it with the city."
"Let's set the record straight," he wrote. "Only me and (Williams) had the streets of Detroit behind us."

That can obviously be debated. What's clear is that Gardner-Johnson is done with Detroit and moving swiftly on to Philly.
