Carlton Davis III has "played through all type of sh*t" in the NFL, he said. He'll play though a broken left thumb Sunday against the Jaguars.

The Lions' No. 1 cornerback suffered the injury during Thursday's practice battling receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. Davis said St. Brown came down hard on his hand trying to get separation off the line, and Davis caught it square on the thumb.

"Clean break," he said.

Davis wore a brace on his hand at practice Friday and said he'll "cast it up" for Sunday's game. He said he "can still catch, somewhat." A physical corner who likes to jam receivers, he also acknowledged he might have to make some "small adjustments in the game as far as using my hands, and I guess being a little more finesse, not too aggressive."

Asked if that will impact the way he plays, Davis said, "I honestly feel like when I get in the game, the adrenaline just takes over and I just don’t give a fu*k no more. That’s what I’m hoping on, and that’s what I think will happen."

Davis, 27, has been playing better for the Lions by the week. He had his first two picks of the season in their comeback win over the Texans last Sunday. Over his last six games, he's allowed a passer rating in coverage of 44.1.

The broken thumb obviously isn't ideal, but for Davis, it's just life in the NFL.

"I'll be good," he said.
