While the Lions enter training camp mostly healthy, two of their free agent acquisitions will be sidelined out of the gate.
Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley is being placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list, Dan Campbell said Sunday before the first practice of camp. And wide receiver Marvin Jones is on the Non-Football Injury list after sustaining an undisclosed injury during the team's summer break.
Moseley, who signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Lions and is slated to be the team's No. 2 corner opposite fellow free-agent signing Cam Sutton, is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last October. He took part in walk-through drills during spring practices, but has been medically "excused" from the start of camp, Campbell said.
"He will start on PUP when he arrives, and it's probably going to be a little bit longer than we had hoped for. That's really predicated on the work that was going (on). He was progressing so fast, so we're just going to put the brakes on a little bit. I don't want to say a setback, but it will just be a little bit longer," said Campbell.
Jones was present for Sunday's practice and working on the side with a trainer. He figures to be full-go in the near future.
