Another week, another win for the Lions, who rolled into Lambeau Field and made easy work of the Packers.
They have won six straight games in a season for the first time since 1995, three straight games at Lambeau for the first time since 1986-88 and they are off to a 7-1 start for the first time since 1956.
There were several stars, per usual, on in Sunday's 24-14 win. Dan Campbell's game ball on offense went to running back David Montgomery, who set a physical tone on the Lions' first drive and finished with 96 yards from scrimmage.
"I wouldn't want to do it with another group of guys man," Montgomery told his teammates. "I'm grateful and I'm blessed to be here. Let's do this thing, let's go all the way."
The game ball on defense went to Kerby Joseph, who snatched the first pick six of his career -- and the Lions' first pick six at Lambeau since 1979 -- late in the first half to stake Detroit to a 17-3 lead at the break. Joseph is the NFL’s first safety to record at least 14 interceptions by his third season since Hall of Famer Ed Reed.
On a wet, sloppy day in Green Bay, the Lions proved they could handle the elements just fine.
I dont think it matters where we play at. doesnt matter about the conditions we knew that coming in here, everbdoy wanted to know if we 'validated' anthing. are we gonna validate being able to play in the weather, it doesnt matter, man, it's just the way you're built. that's an outstnaidng win, i am unbelievably proud of you guys
"That's an outstanding win. I am unbelievably proud of you guys."
The Lions lead the NFL with a point differential of +110. Only three times in franchise history have they had a better differential through eight games: 1954, 1936, 1934.
"As long as we goin'," said Montgomery, "we growin'."
