At the outset of year one under Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell, the Lions were 250-to-1 to win the Super Bowl. They're 25-to-1 entering year three, per BetOnline.ag.

Those are the Lions' second best season-opening Super Bowl odds this century, topped only in 2012 when they were +2,200 on the heels of a 10-6 season, per Pro Football Reference. They were +3,000 entering 2015 coming off an 11-5 season and a narrow loss to the Cowboys in the Wild Card round.

Detroit's +2,500 odds are 11th best in the NFL, between the Dolphins and Jags. The defending-champion Chiefs (+650) are the favorites, followed by the 49ers (+750) and Eagles (+800).

The Lions have long been established as favorites in the NFC North, a division they haven't won since it was called the NFC Central. Their latest odds are 7/5 (+140), followed by the Vikings (+275), Packers (+340) and Bears (+450).

The Lions are also among the favorites in the NFC, a conference they haven't won ... ever. Their 10-to-1 odds (+1,000) are tied for fourth best with the Seahawks after the Eagles (+300), 49ers (+350) and Cowboys (+550).

We'll see if it's the Lions' year. But Vegas is certainly giving them a shot.
