After winning in Tampa, Washington is coming to Detroit.
The top-seeded Lions will host the Commanders in the divisional round of the playoffs Saturday night at Ford Field, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m on FOX. It's the first meeting between the two teams since a win for Detroit in Week 2 of the 2022 season.
The sixth-seeded Commanders upset the Buccaneers in the wild card round Sunday night on a last-second field goal that doinked through the uprights to give Washington its first playoff win since 2006.
The Commanders finished 12-5 in their first season under head coach Dan Quinn, led by quarterback Jayden Daniels. The likely Offensive Rookie of the Year winner led the team in both passing and rushing.
Washington ranked fifth in the NFL in scoring offense, but 18th in scoring defense. The Lions, who ranked first in scoring offense and seventh in scoring defense, opened as 8.5-point favorites.
The Lions-Commanders game will be preceded by the top-seeded Chiefs hosting the Texans in the AFC, while on Sunday afternoon the Eagles will host the winner of Monday night's Rams-Vikings game and the Bills will host the Ravens on Sunday night.
