Jameson Williams reinstated two games early by NFL

A day after they routed the Packers at Lambeau to move to 3-1 on the season, the Lions got more good news: Jamo has been freed.

Jameson Williams is being reinstated early by the NFL and can play for the Lions as soon as next week against the Panthers.

Williams' suspension for violating the league's gambling policy was originally supposed to run through Week 6, but a new agreement between the NFL and the NFLPA allowed for Williams to be reinstated two weeks early.

Williams, the 12th overall pick in 2022, had been suspended for betting on non-NFL games while on NFL premises. Per the new agreement between the league and the players' union, such an infraction has been reduced to a two-game suspension.

In essence, the NFL increased the punishment for betting on NFL games and reduced it for all other betting violations.

The Lions, whose offense already ranks sixth in the NFL, are about to add another potential game-breaking weapon.
