It wasn't an especially pretty showing for the Lions offense in Wednesday's joint practice with the Jags, and right from the jump.

Both Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams came up lame in 7-on-7 reps, with Williams leaving the field.

Williams, per reporters watching Detroit's offense, pulled up on a deep ball and grabbed at his right hamstring, before falling to the grass. He walked off under his own power, but went straight to the locker room.

St. Brown suffered an apparent right ankle injury on the first play of 7-on-7's. He got it taped and then spent time jogging in the end zone, but didn't return to practice.

The Lions can't afford to lose St. Brown, their No. 1 receiver, especially with Williams suspended for the first six games of the season. And it doesn't sound like St. Brown's injury is all that serious.

And Williams can't afford to miss any more practices after already missing the first four of training camp with a leg injury. It's unclear if Wednesday's injury is related, but obviously not a good sign that Williams immediately left the field.

Williams missed most of last season recovering from a torn ACL and, after he serves his suspension this season for violating the NFL's gambling policy, will have missed 17 of the first 23 games of his career.

Needless to say, every rep this summer is crucial for the former No. 12 pick, especially with the Lions counting on him to hit the ground running in Week 7.

Dan Campbell should have an update on both players Thursday morning.
