Amon-Ra St. Brown likes to let his play do the talking. Cowboys cornerback and Detroit native Jourdan Lewis apparently likes to talk with his mouth.
St. Brown said this week on The Pivot Podcast hosted by former NFLers Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder that Lewis was "talking crazy" to him during the Lions' controversial loss to the Cowboys in Week 17 last season.
"I don't talk much unless someone's going to talk to me," said St. Brown. "I block hard, I do all that, but he was talking crazy. Like, some s**t I've never heard before. I'm like, 'Yo, hold on. I'ma have to go hard on this -----.' He was talking crazy out of pocket. Jamo heard it, too. He was coming in.
"At that point, it's like, I don't know what he's saying, I'm trying to make plays, win the game. I'm not worried about him. But once he starts talking like that, it's like, 'Alright, if I do get a chance to kill him, I'ma kill him."
In response to St. Brown's comments, Lewis -- who went to Cass Tech and played his college ball at Michigan -- took Tuesday to Instagram to say, "I am passionate about my craft and I don't want to be friends with everyone, especially a Detroit Lion not from Detroit."
"It's only for ya'll (for real)," Lewis said.
St. Brown made himself heard when he caught a touchdown with Lewis in nearby coverage to pull the Lions within one in the final minute of the game. Lewis and the Cowboys got the last laugh when they won courtesy of an officiating gaffe that took a two-point conversion by Detroit off the board.
St. Brown and Lewis will lock horns again when the Lions return to AT&T Stadium in Week 6 this season.
