Tim Patrick was just what the Lions needed last season as their No. 3 wide receiver. He's back for more.
The Lions have re-signed Patrick to a one-year contract, the club announced Friday. The deal is worth up to $4 million, per NFL Network.
Patrick had no intentions of playing elsewhere this year, posting a photo Thursday on Instagram that spelled out, "I only want to work with the Lions."
Patrick joined the Lions toward the end of training camp last year after being released by the Broncos, and proved he could still play after missing the prior two seasons to devastating injuries -- a torn ACL in 2022 and a torn Achilles in 2023.
With his 6'4 frame and soft hands, Patrick grew into a trusted option for Jared Goff. He caught 33 passes on 44 targets for 394 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. He also fit naturally in an offense where "everybody’s a little bit psycho," he said, most notably as a run blocker.
"He has been a perfect fit," Goff said last season. "He's unselfish, he blocks, he cares, he's a great teammate, and then he's competitive, he's got great hands and he's trustworthy on his routes. As a quarterback, that's all you can ask for. He has been tremendous."
Patrick's return to the Lions rounds out a receivers room headlined by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, both of whom cracked 1,000 yards last season.
