The Lions are doubling down at cornerback.

A day after signing Cam Sutton to a three-year deal, Detroit has agreed to a one-year, $6 million deal with former 49ers corner Emmanuel Moseley, according to ESPN.

When healthy, Moseley was a starter and key contributor on one of the NFL's best defenses the last four seasons. He was also college teammates with Sutton at Tennessee.

The pair gives the Lions two proven corners as they overhaul the weakest position group on their roster. Detroit's defense allowed the second most yards per pass and most yards per completion in the NFL last season.

Moseley, who turns 27 this month, does come with a history of injuries. He missed the final six games of 2021 due to a sprained ankle and most of 2022 due to a torn ACL.

In the five games he did play last season, Moseley had five passes defended, an interception and 22 tackles. He held quarterbacks to a 66.9 passer rating in coverage, per Pro Football Reference.
