Detroit Lions fans have plenty to complain about... yesterday, today and let's face it, probably tomorrow too. You can go back in time to complain about Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson retiring early, look to the record this year or talk about the future prospects for a Super Bowl ring. Heck, you can complain about the lack of winning throughout the franchise's entire existence.
Do Lions fans complain more than other fanbases though?
Mibets.com surveyed over 5,000 fans and found out the actually the Dallas Cowboys fanbase complains more than any other. Followed by the Patriots, Bills, Bears and Eagles.
Huh! Patriots fans think they have things to complain about? Sit down, friends, and we'll tell you a story about what it's like to truly suffer. That brings us to another point from the study, which showed that Lions fans actually consider themselves victims.
So, what is a victim mentality? Healthline says the victim mentality rests on three key beliefs:
Bad things happen and will keep happening. Other people or circumstances are to blame. Any efforts to create change will fail, so there's no point in trying.
Sound familiar?
The Detroit Lions fanbase ranked #15 in the league for most often using a 'victim mentality.' What about players, though? Fans ranked Matthew Stafford 17th among QBs who complain the most.
Now the stats are out there. Do you find it odd that Lions' fans are considered victims?
