Lions Down Six Starters In Crucial Game Against Packers

It's Week 2, and things are already looking desperate for the Lions. The team will be without six starters for Sunday's game against the Packers.

On offense, the Lions will be missing No. 1 WR Kenny Golladay, who's out with a hamstring injury; starting RT Halapoulivaati Vaitai, who's out with a foot injury; and starting LG Joe Dahl, who was placed on IR this week a groin injury. Golladay and Vaitai also missed the season-opener.

On defense, Detroit will be missing its No. 1 corner in Desmond Trufant, who's out with a hamstring injury; its slot corner in Justin Coleman, who's on IR with a hamstring injury; and starting DT Nick Williams, who's out with a shoulder injury.

Oh, and Aaron Rodgers and the Packers hung 42 points and more than 500 yards on the Vikings last week.

Needless to say, the Lions need Jeff Okudah now more than ever. Okudah missed the season-opener due to a hamstring injury, but returned to practice this week and is ready to go for Sunday. That's the good news.

The bad news is the Lions are fielding a decimated lineup in a game they badly need to win. A loss on Sunday would drop them to 0-2 on the season, with both losses coming in the NFC North.
