Make it four Pro Bowlers for your Detroit Lions.
Jared Goff has been added to the 2023 Pro Bowl alongside Frank Ragnow and fellow alternates Penei Sewell and Amon-Ra St. Brown. Goff is replacing Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is playing in the Super Bowl.
It's a well-deserved honor for Goff, who was originally beaten out on the NFC roster by Kirk Cousins and Geno Smith despite finishing fifth in the NFL and second to only Hurts in the NFC in total quarterback rating. His resurgence this season was a big reason why the Lions had one of the best offenses in the NFL.
It's the third career Pro Bowl nod for Goff, who also earned the honor in his first two seasons as a starter with the Rams, over which time he had a passer rating of 100.8 and a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 3.15. He had a ratio of 4.14 this season and a passer rating of 99.3. He didn't throw a single pick over Detroit's final nine games.
The Lions' four Pro Bowlers marks the most they've had since five in 2014 and their second most this century. Sewell is replacing Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson while St. Brown is replacing Eagles receiver A.J. Brown. Both Sewell and St. Brown were first alternates at their respective positions.
This year's Pro Bowl, which will start with skills competitions on Thursday, will feature a seven-on-seven flag football game for the first time, airing Sunday at noon on ESPN.
