Jared Goff has yet to win a game for the Lions, but he's already made an impact in Detroit.
The Lions quarterback was named the NFL Players Association Community MVP for Week 5 after distributing more than 40,000 pounds of fresh food and supplies to 500 families in need through a mobile food pantry at Ford Field.
"It's an incredible honor to be named NFLPA Community MVP," Goff said Friday in a statement through the Lions. "I am extremely passionate about impacting the community where I play beyond the football field. The city of Detroit has embraced me and in return, I want to do all I can to leave my mark."
Goff, 26, arrived in Detroit this offseason through the Matthew Stafford trade with the Rams. This isn't his first act of community outreach. He also spent a day at the Boys & Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan along with teammate Trey Flowers in August.
"It was awesome," Goff said. "I didn't really know what to expect when I got there. but was really fun for me. I've always enjoyed trying to get out in the community and make an impact in some way."
