One of the biggest questions facing the Lions ahead of the NFL Draft -- will Jalen Carter be on the board at No. 6? -- begets another: Is Carter on the Lions board?

"My guess at this point, my 51 (percent) says he’s not," says Karsch. "I’m not sure, I have no idea. I think this organization and (this regime) take red flags very, very seriously. And I don’t know if they have wiggle room with that. And I think it’s been good to them. They always talk about sticking to the plan, so I would guess at this point that he’s not, if I take them at their word and watch their patterns."

Carter, the defensive tackle out of Georgia, is one of the most talented players in the draft, but he also comes with off-field concerns stemming from a misdemeanor for reckless driving in connection to an accident that killed one of his teammates in January. He also showed up out of shape to his pro day, where he failed to finish his position drills.

The Lions hosted Carter for a pre-draft visit this week and GM Brad Holmes said Thursday he "felt better" about their knowledge of him afterward.

"I think he’s on their board," says Gator. "I think he always has been. I think the visit confirmed within them that he’s on their board. I don’t think they look at him and say, 'This is nothing we can fix,' if there’s anything to fix."
