The Lions have added a new face to their young secondary.

The club has agreed to a one-year deal with former Panthers CB Corn Elder, according to his agent.

A fifth-round pick out of Miami in 2017, Elder played all 16 games for Carolina last season, getting significant snaps on both defense and special teams.

He finished with three passes defended, a forced fumble and 40 tackles.

Detroit's top two corners entering 2021 are Amani Oruwariye and Jeff Okudah after the team cut veterans Desmond Trufant and Justin Coleman.

Elder, 26, could fill Coleman's role at nickel. Either way, he'll give the club's secondary more experience and depth.
