The Lions have found a complementary piece for D'Andre Swift.

The club has agreed to a two-year deal, $7.5 million with former Packers RB Jamaal Williams, according to Tom Pelissero.

Williams confirmed the deal via Twitter on Wednesday.

A fourth-round pick in 2017, Williams rushed at least 100 times for at least 460 yards in each of his four seasons in Green Bay.

Last season he turned 119 carries into 505 yards -- 4.2 yards per attempt -- and two touchdowns. He also caught 31 of his 35 targets for 236 yards and a touchdown.

The Lions plan to increase Swift's workload next season, up to as many as 25 touches per game. But Williams' addition will likely keep that number under 20.

The Packers gave Williams about 11 touches per game last season, leaving about 18 per game for lead back Aaron Jones.

The arrival of Williams means Kerryon Johnson will likely remain in the pass-blocking role he occupied for the Lions in 2020.
